Align with the Courage of your Heart, the Leo Full Moon.

The Foundation

Leo is charismatic and creative. It’s known for its confidence, passion, and generous nature.Leo is a natural-born leader who steps into the spotlight effortlessly and legitimately thrives off of that energy. It helps them to inform their sense of self.

Leo is associated with ambition, loyalty, and performance. It’s very heart-centered and heart-led. Leo is driven by optimism and play. It’s a sign and energy that can be very childlike and exuberant. With maturity, this becomes nobility and courageous leadership anchored in self-trust and sincerity. Leo is a sign associated with leaders, celebrities, influencers, and entrepreneurs or managers. They are comfortable in spaces of attention and command.

This Leo Full Moon is illuminating your heart's call to shine authentically. It’s lighting up your sincerity and your desire to be seen and appreciated for who you truly are. This is a time to consider where you might be dimming your light or where your loyalty is misaligned or not reciprocated. Because the moon is our subconscious and emotions, this Leo Full Moon may feel very passionate or dramatic. A pull you can no longer resist.

The Moon in Leo is sitting opposite the Sun in Aquarius, and Leo is ruled by the Sun, so its position is very relevant and informs the energy of this moon. Aquarius is a sign of the collective, innovation, and even rebelliousness. Aquarius is independent, unconventional, and idealistic. It’s the humanitarian, and also the revolutionary systems and ideas that serve the group.

So, the Leo Full Moon is the opposition of these two energies - the heart-centered, motivated, confident self juxtaposed to the collective awareness and influence. As I shared in the intro- the fact that the moon and sun are sitting opposite to one another means that the resolution to this energy is to find a balance of the polarity.

This Leo Full Moon is showing you a space in your life where you’re ready to step into your light and the light with full awareness of how it impacts the collective, and through letting go of the expectations you may feel from the collective. Typically, the Aquarius collective is humanity, but it can also be groups you are involved in- families, work, online networks, or community. You are being summoned to follow your heart and lead in some way that is potentially innovative or even idealistic in the context or your collective.

This moon is the culmination of seeds you planted at the end of July last year. An idea for how you could lead or shine with more authenticity was planted. That seed has germinated, and now is the time for growth.

Leo is a masculine, fire, fixed sign. Aquarius is a masculine, air, fixed sign. That means that the energy of this Full Moon will be expressed outwardly through solid ideas and determined actions. This Full Moon offers the most support if these ideas and actions are in integrity with your true self, if they are sincere and life-giving, and if they harmonize with the needs of humanity.

Cosmic Dance

In addition to opposing the Sun, this moon sits opposite four other planets also in Aquarius- Pluto, Mars, Venus, and Mercury. This means that ALL of those planets are in a conjunction with the Sun which equates to a MASSIVE amount of energy currently stirring up within the ideas and systems of the collective- which is very obvious.

Pluto is power, fear, death, and transformation. It will be in Aquarius for another 17 years, so our personal experience of it will be less acute and more obtuse, but because Aquarius is the collective and the systems of the collective, we’re going to experience radical transformation - together - while Pluto transits Aquarius. Our experience of the collective will reflect back to us our personal feelings of fear or empowerment and allow us the opportunity to transform them.

The other 3 planets in conjunction with the Sun, are considered personal planets. Because of their proximity to the Earth and speed of their orbit, they reflect the day-to-day experiences of our lives. All of these planets (including the Sun) JUST had conjunctions with Pluto in the days leading up to this Full Moon, which means we each individually had the opportunity to get present with our fears and begin transforming them.

Venus showed us power dynamics in relationships. Mercury highlighted the power of thoughts and words. The Sun shone light into the dark side of power, and where we might give our own power away. And finally, Mars brought the will to own and utilize our personal power. And because all of this happened in Aquarius, these moments of clarity around our individual, authentic power came in context of how we see ourselves within our groups the whole of humanity.

So, now this Leo Full Moon is sitting opposite of all of this insight, and shining light into our subconscious and our emotions. We are literally being compelled to face our fears about what is happening collectively by becoming a heart-centered leader in our day-to-day lives.

Leo is lion-hearted, and Leo roars to protect the group. There is obvious tension in this full moon, individually and collectively, and it says very clearly that the harmony lies in our personal capacity to act resolutely from our hearts for well being of all.

RITUALS

Moon Water: The Moon has a rhythmic relationship with the waters of our planet and our bodies. Water facilitates connection and is the carrier of emotion.

Fill a clear jar with water and hold it in both hands as you mindfully speak your new moon affirmation or intentions to the water. Place the water outside or near a window where it can receive the moons presence overnight. Drink your moon water with conscious intention of allowing the energy of this moon flush your away ideas, emotions, and/or actions that are not necessary for as you move forward on your path.

Fire & Air: Go to a space outside where you can safely burn a piece of paper or have a small fire, and where you feel comfortable speaking loudly.

Take an empowered wide stance. Roll your shoulders down your back, and lift your heart.Take deep, forceful breaths through your nose (ujjayi breath) while you pound on your chest with your fists. Do this until you feel ready to speak your affirmation loudly 3 times. Once you have asserted your affirmation, burn the paper in the fire knowing that it is alchemizing your fears.
