A New Balance is Required, Libra Full Moon
Release self-sacrifice and find harmony with the Libra Full Moon.

The Foundation
April 1st's Full Moon is in Libra. Libra is highly relational. It’s known as the scales and is commonly associated with balance, fairness, and harmony. It’s also related to justice and equilibrium. Libra’s sense of self is based in context to others, which is why relationships are so vital to Libra.
Libra is associated with kindness and tact. It’s concerned with beauty, tranquility, and physical and social aesthetics. Libra is demonstrative; they care for others as a way to understand themselves and to communicate their own needs. Libra tends to dislike conflict and can become self-sacrificing or play devil’s advocate as a way to create balance within relationships. Libra’s sense of being is so relational that they have to consciously work to develop their own ideas and feelings. With maturity, Libra is very just and fair. They can see both sides of a story and help bring harmony to challenging circumstances.
This full moon is illuminating spaces where you may be too accommodating or self-sacrificing. It’s lighting up the space in your life where you are putting the needs of others ahead of your own, to the detriment of your personal dreams and goals. This is a time to consider how you can bring more balance and fairness to your relationships. Where do you need more equilibrium or even more peace and tranquility in your life? Because the moon is our subconscious and emotions, this Libra Full Moon may feel very destabilizing, an imbalance you can no longer endure.

The Cosmic Dance
This moon comes with quite a bit of cosmic conversation, some supportive, some more provocative. The moon is sitting opposite the Sun in Aries. Aries is currently an active part of the zodiac and will continue to build with energy as more planets continue to stack up in the fiery sign of initiation throughout April. The Sun loves being in Aries and is shining the light of consciousness on our fresh desires of self-actualization. The building Aries energy of “I AM” is sitting opposite the self-compromising “I RELATE” energy of Libra.
The Libra Full moon is also opposite Saturn in Aries, and square Jupiter in Cancer. Saturn is the discipline and boundaries planet of the zodiac. It rules time, structure, and karma. Saturn requires consistency and tenacity. These are not easy traits in Aries, which prefers quick, even impulsive action. Saturn in Aries is making us work hard for our new vision of self, and opposite this moon, that likely entails setting new relationship boundaries.
The square to Jupiter in Cancer creates a tension between these new relational dynamics and our sense of emotional security. As we are asked to become a new version of ourselves, it requires adjustments that rock the boat of our home and require us to be courageously vulnerable.
The moon is receiving flowing support from Pluto in Aquarius. Pluto is death, fear, power, and transformation. Aquarius is the radically unique individual within the collective. Pluto in Aquarius is transforming our unique identity within the context of the whole, and it’s sending support to the rebalancing required by this moon.
The ruler of this moon is Venus, who just recently entered Taurus. Venus is at home in Taurus, which accentuates our simple comforts. This placement highlights the qualities of our relations that are operating in habit. It points to how we’ve become comfortable in unbalanced dynamics.
This Venus is in a square to Pluto in Aquarius. The Venus square Pluto forces us to push past our comfort zones, step into our personal power, and embrace our individuality.
So this moon is a potent point of culmination in our most personal, sensitive relationships- with the people we are close to, with our sense of humanity, and with ourselves. Adjustments have to be made in how we understand and engage with the give-and-take of our lives.
You are being called to a new identity that is more authentic, courageous, and aligned with our individual and collective aspirations. You are even becoming aware of the steps necessary to make it happen. Now this full moon in Libra is highlighting the relational dynamics that have to change for this to take place. This can be interpersonal relations, or how we relate to ideas, actions, obligations, or events in our lives.
Do you work too much, eat or use a substance too much, exercise too much, escape too much, or attend to the “needs” of others too much? This doesn’t have to mean in an observably problematic way. It can be, or it can just now harmonize with who you want to become.
The Libra Full Moon is telling you that you have to step past your comfort zone. Be vulnerable. Be courageous. Have the conversation. Address the relational dissonance. It’s a necessary step on the path of authentic self-expression, personal empowerment, and individual and collective transformation.

Rituals
Moon Water: The Moon has a rhythmic relationship with the waters of our planet and our bodies. Water facilitates connection and is the carrier of emotion.
Fill a clear jar with water and hold it in both hands as you mindfully speak your new moon affirmation or intentions to the water. Place the water outside or near a window where it can receive the moon's presence overnight. Drink your moon water with conscious intention of allowing the energy of this moon to flush away your ideas, emotions, and/or actions that are not necessary as you move forward on your path.
Air & Fire: Libra is an air sign, which equals perceptions, thoughts, and communication. Aries is a fire sign. It reflects action and initiation.
Find or create an aesthetic piece of paper and a pleasing candle or location for a small fire. Once you’ve determined the relationship dynamics that need to shift in your life, write either a poem or an endearing letter to the appropriate “recipient.” Describe the experience of being vulnerable yet courageous. Share your visions for yourself and why you need the relationship to change.
Once your letter or poem is done, light your candle or fire and enjoy the calming ambiance. When you’re ready, read your poem or letter out loud. Hear yourself. Feel the words. Allow yourself to embrace any fears or insecurities that surface. Then, when you're ready, burn your paper, knowing you’ve committed to more tranquility, equilibrium, and harmony in your life.
